The Reds won the mother of all derbies...

Yesireee!!!!

Fernando_Torres_celeb_Liverpool_v_Manchester__844835

Liverpool won against the Blue-side of Merseyside, Everton hands down. Two well taken and superb goals by none other than Liverpool's Number 9 - Fernando Torres...

Overall, this was a great passing game of Liverpool and controlled the game, though Everton does create some goal-scoring opportunities for themselves.

Another thing to note is that a great derby does not become a great derby without a red card. So off you go Tim Cahill...

What a great feeling last Saturday, though the 7.45pm kick-off did spoiled my dinner but a big fan like me will never miss a big game like this.

For the record, last season 2007-2008, I've never missed any Liverpool live games on TV. I will try to keep this record intact this year and hope Liverpool's title ambition will materialise sooner than later and lift No.19!!

Walk on all you Reds out there...

Anpan-Man Pt 2 : Spread the good news...

anpanman

Ever since I saw Anpan-Man pictures at Lab Papa's Journal, I have been fascinated with this character. Perhap's nobody paid much attention to this 'hero' in Lab Papa's posting but I'm glad I did. (most commented about the guy with less underpants... hahahaha).

In short, here's what Lab Papa info about Anpan-man :

"Anpan-man ni sebenarnya kuih kacang hitam. So kalau dia lawan dia punya musuh, baikin-man (bacteria-man), mula2 mesti kepala dia jadi buruk mcm kuih basi. Kemudian datang lah tukang buat dia, jyamu-ojisan (Uncle Jam), bawa kepala baru dan ganti. Baru la si anpan-man kuat.
So serita anpan-man ni semua berkisar dengan roti2 dan kuih2. Kawan2 dia termasuk Shokupan-man (bread-man) dan melonpanma-chan (kuih melon)."

So I did a little bit of research aka 'googling' around as advised by my good friend, Lab Papa... to my surprise, Anpan-Man is everywhere...

Anpanman on Wikipedia - read all about this character from A to Z

Anpan-man is a very nice guy and self-less - "When Anpanman comes across a starving creature or person, he lets the unfortunate creature or person eat part of his head" - excerpt from Wiki. A fascinating fact indeed my friend.. no superhero do that!!

A clip on Anpan-man from Youtube - though some of them have been taken out due to copyrights..

Anpan-Man is 'HOT' (because he is a 'kuih') and 'SADAP' (tasty) (Sadap - according to Poppet). I've suggested to Poppet to take Anpan-man as mascot to Poppet's blog, since it's all about food and of course - kuih'.

Whenever you are in distress or hungry, wherever you are, don't call Superman or Batman or whatever, they can't hear you. Just call Anpan-man as "He also has super hearing in that he can respond to anyone that calls his name out in distress from anywhere in the world" (excerpt from Wiki again..). He may let you eat his head if you are hungry!!!

OOOhhhh.. now I am getting more fascinated with this guy.

All thanks to Lab Papa for introducing this kind-hearted superhero. Well, have you ever seen a superhero let his head to be eaten?...

Wondering when will Anpan-man be aired on our local satellite tv... hmmm...

It's written by a Japanese writer of children story, so it's suitable for our children also. This is what Poppet has to say about Anpan-man "..disamping belajar moral drg tau juga bahasa jipun.. at least drg tau jenis-jenis kuih la hehehe"

So, let's spread the good news about Anpan-man. (I am drafting a letter to write to our local satellite tv to get this aired... hehehe)

Anpan-Man.. we need you...

Okay.. it's Monday so anything can happen. Here goes...

Last Sunday, while my son is running around the house, trying his best to 'kacau' whatever he can get his hands on, I was actually bored and nothing to do. So I turned on the tv and hey, it's Ultraman Tiga (ウルトラマンティガ). Well, Ultraman used to be my favourite show on tv, and perhaps, I still have 'it' in me because I actually turned my attention to watch it..

ultraman3

In short, Ultraman 3 turned into a lifeless stone statue as he can't beat the humongous 'siput babi' who lives in the sea... so, that's where the episode ends..

Hence the title of this ramblings... I hope, or rather the entire human race, hope that Anpan-Man will come and rescue the Earth as Tiga has been defeated...  I don't know how to find him, but he is last seen on Uchino Matsuri, leading the 'ondo' dance.. perhaps Lab Papa can help us..

anpan-man

Yeah.. that's Anpan-man for you (Thanks to Lab Papa for introducing us to this new Hero....)

I hope you have a good laugh this Monday, my friends... hahahaha

IMO, We don't need "IT" too in Sabah...

Read

Just writing my own personal opinion... nothing else... but myself too, in my very honest opinion, that we do not need it, well, in Sabah.

As reported in the linked news.. Sabah too doesn't have racial problems, IMO.

When I was in UM, my senior who is a student leader in PERMASA - Persatuan Mahasiswa Sabah once told me that he was once asked by one of the Univerity officers who is in-charged of students's relations - why we, Sabahan students, can mix together in our PERMASA although we are multi-racial and religions. The senior told me his answer... "Orang Sabah memang macam tu.."

Just my own personal opinion bah...

(I have edited my title a bit as it have mislead two of my friend here.. hehehe.. un-intentionally bah.. ~ teringat pula lagu "I.T."..)

I am going to Japan....yippeeee!!!

hehehe.. the title may suggest that I will be meeting Lab Papa soon... yes, very soon but will have to wait until next year, 2009.

Reported in my favourite local daily today that the red budget airline - Air Asia - is coming to Japan next year. Airfares is reported to be 50 - 60% less than major airlines fare. For the launching, a 25-dollar one-way ticket is being offered. The flights will, initially, land at Tokyo International Airport. Other major cities may follow soon as reported. But, I am not sure if they will (ever) go to Niigata, where Lab Papa is.

Seem like good news, can save 50-60% on airline fare to meet Lab Papa and 'look-see look-see' Japan.. hahaha. Will this mean I can dream my 'dream' of going there? we'll see...

Well, I suppose Lab Papa have something in mind about this new development also, since he is the 'expert' on this kind of matter..hmmm

Breaking news....

Read

I've experienced it when I was in KL for the first few months... but after I got use to using buses and learned the ways and 'shortcuts' around KL, no more taxis for me... hah!!

Music to my cochlea...

I was watching Ben 10 cartoon last weekend as I have nothing better to watch (aside from playing Diablo II : Lord of Destruction).. then one of the cartoon chief baddies say this “music to my cochlea..” when he was very happy as his baddiness is in progress in one of the scene…

These words – music to ears – are one of the few that my Red-devil friend, Henry, used to tease me when my Liverpool lost or play poorly. I hate those very words as he said it to me last season, when we lost to Manures at Anfield… ceisshh

On Sept. 13, we beat Manures good time… so Henry, that is “music to my cochlea…” hahahaha

But Henry is a good friend. He is not the typical Manure fans I meet around the globe. Typical – when their team lose (esp. to Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea), they always give many excuses and reasons, same like their manager – Alex F. Just look at what Alex F said in the news when they lost last Saturday… I am cheesed off with his remarks etc. Common lah Uncle Alex… just admit you lost to a better team. At least Henry my friend shakes my hand when I meet him in the office the other. Gentlemen, that Henry.

To all manures fans… just be gentlemen like Henry. He is a Red Devil through and through, I tell you.

LIVERPOOL 2 – 1 MANURES

MUSIC TO MY COCHLEA….. hahahahahahahahahahaha

(although a bit late, I am still celebrating though as my cochlea are still vibrating from last Saturday game.. then continued on with a Champions League win against Marseille…)

note : and oh ya, my friend Rizwan is also cursing his team failure to dominate and win despite having a goal up in 3 minutes of kick-off...

That's why he is one of the best....

“That is why he is one of the best..” this is the very exact words I told my Munchester United-loving friend, Henry.

He can’t deny it. I also don’t need to explain further. Self-explanatory….

Stevie G – let’s make this Season.. OUR season.. WALK ON!!!
(and that’s why I named my son according to his name….)

The Donkey Story...

Here’s an interesting story to share with you all again.

I got it from a cousin of mine a few days back. It’s says, at the end of the e-mail, to either “smile and close this page, or pass this along to someone else to spread the fun”… since blog is the way nowadays… I just post this up for everyone to read… (nothing wrong is it?)… Hope you all have a great fun reading it and learn something… sharing is the way, isn’t it my friends?

THE DONKEY

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

MORAL :

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive..

2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less

You have two choices...smile and close this page, or pass this along to someone else to spread the fun. I know what I did!!

Pure ramblings...

Yesterday, I was ‘gerai-hopping’ (something like blog-hopping lah) through the Ramadan stalls near my office. As I approached one of the stalls, I saw one sign which read ‘Pedal – RM3.00’. It was a stall selling food and I said to myself “what is this? Pedal? Like bicycle pedal?’… but I don’t see any ‘pedals’ in there… just some kind of food.” So, curiously, I approached the stall and it turns out to be ‘bedal’, not ‘pedal’… haiyaaa.. some signs

Then, as I walk around, I saw people wearing t-shirts with amusing words on them. One says “This is funny! Enjoy! 27” – what is funny about that?.. Then another one is “Power to the possessive” – errr… what was that all about…

When I was very young, my elder sister once scolded my cousin who wears a t-shirt with “Free Girl!!” emblazoned on her chesty chest… my sister says “Ko perempuan ‘free’ kah?”. Well, perhaps it means otherwise but it does mean "perempuan percuma" kan? Never saw her with that t-shirt after that. Some t-shirts in the market do have funny writings on them… I believe you all encounter one before kan?.. or even wore one of them, perhaps? Hahahaha

Then today, I bought a note pad, as the current pad is already full. This one have a nice cover, simple, good size, but wait.. there is some words on its cover..

The first line says “Sport is full of passion, is the symbol of life” – hmm.. well, okay..

Second line says like this though “Come, let us wandering around in a passionate campaign!”.

Err…what has sports got to do with ‘passionate campaign’. And ‘wandering around’?.. what was that all about… bengong...

Some things around us do ‘tickles’ the mind. Well, perhaps it’s good for me because at the moment I am ‘purely stressed out’. I don’t want to be a ‘garbage truck’ when I am ‘cheesed off’ with anybody…

Hahahaha…heheheheh… bah.. just my ramblings

Garbage Truck Law...

I got this from an email by my ex-course mate not so long ago and I found it to be so refreshing as currently, my mind, body and soul are so stressed out and can even become like a ‘garbage truck’ in a blink if annoyed etc… I just want to share this beautiful and meaningful story with you (and I hope I don’t get in trouble or anything for posting this…)

Beware of Garbage Trucks (by David J. Pollay)

How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee ruin your day? Unless you're the Terminator, for an instant you're probably set back on your heels. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly he/she can get back her focus on what's important.

Sixteen years ago I learned this lesson. I learned it in the back of a New York City taxi cab.

Here's what happened.

I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when, all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car's back end by just inches! The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and he started yelling bad words at us.

My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy.  And I mean, he was friendly. So, I said, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

Many people are like garbage trucks.
They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.
As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it.
And if you let them, they'll dump it on you.
When someone wants to dump on you, don't take it personally.
You just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.
You'll be happy you did.

So this was it: The 'Law of the Garbage Truck.'

I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right
over me?
And how often do I take their garbage and spread it to other people: at work, at home, on the streets?
It was that day I said, 'I'm not going to do it anymore.'

I began to see garbage trucks.
I see the load they're carrying. I see them coming to drop it off.
And like my Taxi Driver, I don't make it a personal thing; I just smile, wave, wish them well, and I move on.
One of my favorite football players of all time, Walter Payton, did this every day on the football field.
He would jump up as quickly as he hit the ground after being tackled.
He never dwelled on a hit.
Payton was ready to make the next play his best.

Good leaders know they have to be ready for their next meeting.
Good parents know that they have to welcome their children home from school with hugs and kisses.
Teachers and parents know that they have to be fully present, and at their best for the people they care about.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let
Garbage Trucks take over their day.

What about you?
What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more garbage trucks pass you by?

Here's my bet.

You'll be happier.

So.. Love the people who treat you right.
Forget about the ones who don't.
Believe that everything happens for a reason.
If you get a chance , TAKE IT!
If it changes your life , LET IT!
Nobody said it would be easy...
They just promised it would be worth it!

I hope you all have a good read and lesson from this…. Have a great day my friends….

Selamat Berpuasa

To all my Muslim friends.. Selamat Berpuasa, especially to Lab Papa, Rin-Chan, MJ, Rizwan, Linachu and Aza...
