"Bengong"...

A few days ago, I wrote to an architect firm who is the consultant for our project (name withheld for obvious reasons.. haha) about problems with the roof design. In that submission, our roof designer clearly explained that the roof edges do not ‘meet’ at the same level (found out about this while they are designing the roof trusses for that particular part of the building) if they follow the pitch of the roof as specified in the architectural drawings.

I have attached the roof truss drawings (Lampiran 1) with the comments of the designer on it so as to transfer the message to the architect clearly.

Though my memo is in Bahasa Malaysia, as this is our official correspondence language for the project concerned, our Designer’s comments is in English.

Then a day later, I received the architect firms’ memo with this comments:-

nzn

“Di dalam lampiran “1” yang dikemukakan adalah lukisan (the name of our designer) dan ianya berbeza dengan lukisan kami”

When I first read the memo… my mind goes ‘blank’ for a few seconds.. I couldn’t understand what they are talking about. Then I read it twice… and I laughed!!

I clearly wrote in my letter that we are asking for their advice/ comments on the roof design problem based on the findings by our roof truss designer. Well, if that person couldn’t really understand BM, then I believe she will understand the designer’s comments as it is in English.. yupp.. plain English. It doesn’t take a rocket science to understand what we are asking about…

And if you read back the above comment by them.. do you think they have answered my queries?

Of course the drawings attached are not the same with their drawings as it is the roof truss drawings. Anybody will surely understand that. It is only attached to highlight/ indicate the problems concerned so that the architect understand what we are talking about. Nevertheless, the roof truss design is based on the architectural drawings drawn by the said architect firm..

The architect firm or the person who replied our queries is, I am sorry to say this, is ‘bengong’. As I have said earlier, it doesn’t take a rocket science to understand our queries.

Or perhaps that person did not really read through our query and simply reply just for the sake of replying us quickly? (note : they reply within a day)

If I am that person and I don’t understand what the letter is all about, I will surely contact the originator of the query and get further explanation/ clarification before replying. (Hence, I normally write at the end of my letter – “If you have further query, kindly contact the undersigned” – be it in English or BM.

Otherwise that reply letter will look stupid.

Haiyaaa…

Anpan-man at City Mall...

22112008_016

Haha.. just 'found' Anpan-man flying in circles at City Mall amusement centre.. and JJ had lots of fun riding him..

(though I am not sure why Anpan-man has white square patches to his cheeks and nose)

I found that City Mall is a good place for family to go. The spaces are quite spacious for kids to run around and have fun. One sport shop even has a table with some toys for childrens to play with (at 1st floor). Then at the same floor you have a few seats to sit when you are tired and/or chat or just watch your kids run around.

My JJ surely loves CT Department store, he loves to run around and at one time I was chasing him around the store. Well, I don't care what people think of me at that time but I just want JJ to have fun. But, lo.. other kids too are doing the same thing..

Popular Books and Giants also a good place for me to patronise.. haha

Well, City Mall is doing quite well there. Lots and lots of people are patronising the shops there each and every day. I guess one of the reasons maybe is that you won't find (or very rare) "Penduduk Tempatan Istimewa" there... which has become the 'trademark' of Centre Point nowadays, especially during weekends and worse during holidays...

Kudos to City Mall Management for setting up a shopping mall good environment. Perhaps more and more shops will opened there soon..

Well, nevermind, though he's cheap, he sticks to my rear view mirror and hasn't fall as yet to this day.. oh my, he is in the workshop now with my Kalabau..

I am sure Lab Papa remembers him.. I've shown it to him when he got back here recently..

(Hint : look closely.. you may find something interesting in this picture too.. hehehe)

Thank you Lord..

In all my 32 years of life in this beautiful world we call home.. I have met with two car accidents (thank God.. balis-balis). The second one happened yesterday noon..

It’s definitely not my fault. I know it and the guy who hit me (or rather my good ol’ Kalabau) did admit it too.

It happened at the traffic light in front of the Karamunsing Police station. I was from Jalan Bukit Nenas (I think that is the road name) and was just passing the road heading towards KK/ Asia City when suddenly, I saw from the corner of my eyes, a black thing zooming like a bullet.. and suddenly crash boom bang!!! Hit my Kalabau’s rear wheel section… (He is coming down from KK).

In a few moments I feel like … I don’t know.. I can’t really describe it. Maybe it was something like an emptiness and blankness from the ‘blink-of-an-eye’ moment. My Kalabau had turned and now I was facing the opposite direction on the wrong lane… “oh my” I said in my mind..

After that, I opened my door and saw the guy at the other side screaming and yelling at me.. as if it my fault. When I recovered from that few seconds, I walk towards him, without even caring about the cars passing me by and shouted and yelled back at him.. giving a piece of my mind. I believe I have never been angrier than this my whole life (but It never come to my mind to punch him though.. It was surprising I was able to control myself in this situation..).

In that few minutes or so.. that guy tried to ‘subdue’ me by saying his was right and I am not. But I am very confident I went off during green light. I am also very sure, as when my car is turning to face the wrong direction, all the other cars has not moved yet. And I realised that the guy sneaked through the emergency lane without even stopping at the red!!

Well.. thinking back during the whole episode, I realised that I become more calmed and focused during that very moment (luckily). Managed to analyse the whole situation quickly and decide on my actions… Though, when I came back home, I really couldn’t sleep at all thinking about what happened yesterday..

But I am okay now, still shakenbut not stirred.. my good ol’ Kalabau is only dented just above the rear wheel but it sure cost RM600 to repair!!

I thank God because although I am a sinner, He loves me and still allow me to live in this beautiful place for another day… Thank you Lord.

Thinking back, if I was a little bit slower… I don’t think I am able to post this and perhaps won’t be able to updates my blogs for a long time or visit my friends’ blog.. or even, you won’t be reading my ramblings here anymore….

Thank you God..

(I am not a good writer, so I can’t really describe the whole episode here.. sorry)

Cerita si Gontit Badoh...

Ada saturang manusia bijak, nama dia si Gontit Badoh.. dia mengalami kesusahan dalam kewangan dia.. tapi dia bijak, memang bijak..

Satu hari si Gontit pi jumpa dengan Tuhan.. (tejumpa juga lah kali dia tu..)

Si Gontit tau perkara ini - bagi Tuhan, duit $100 ribu di dunia, macam 10 sen saja, dan duit $1 juta pula macam $1 ringgit (cam gitu lah bah tu kali) - tu lah sebab sia bilang si Gontit Badoh bijak... memang bijak...

Jadi si Gontit pi minta tulung sama Tuhan.. dia bilang "Tuhan.. sia mo minta tulung.."

Jadi Tuhan pun jawablah..

Tuhan gusuk-gusuk hidung dia... "Hmm... bah bulihlah..." bilang Tuhan...

Tapi si Gontit yang bijak tidak tau seperkara - bagi Tuhan satu saat di dunia adalah10 tahun, dan 1 minit pula adalah 100 tahun... (kurang lebih cam tu lah kali tu)

Tuhan sambung lagi... "hmm.. Gontit.. teda masalah bah tu, bulih bah kalau ko" Tuhan bilang

"Tapi tunggu kijap aaa.. sia mo pi ambil wallet dulu... bagi sia satu minit bulih? mana suadah sia simpan wallet sia tu..." Tuhan bilang

Jadi si Gontit dengan hati yang sangat gembira sekali pun menunggu lah Tuhan pi ambil wallet dia sebab Tuhan sudah setuju sama apa yang dia minta..

Bijak, memang si Gontit Badoh bijak...

It's "TADAU KAAMATAN" fgs!!!

If I am not mistaken, I believe that I have read it somewhere that the harvest festival celebrated on 30th & 31st May every year has been officially recognised and named as "Tadau Kaamatan" some years back. Even the National Open House is called as "TADAU KAAMATAN NATIONAL OPEN HOUSE" organised by the Ministry of Culture, Arts & Heritage. No more mentioned as 'harvest festival' or 'pesta menuai' ...

but still I noticed it is still wrongly written in advertisements and newspapers!!! Even many products advertisement wrongly associate it with the Gawai celebration in Sarawak, as I noticed a lot of times the background photographs are of the Gawai celebration but the wordings is for the Kaamatan...

Read this article from Yahoo!! News Malaysia.. check para. 2 , line 8..

You will read this - TADAU KEAMATAN!!!!

FGS Bernama and the reporter.. get your facts right!!! such a shame to  Bernama!!! Shame on you Reporter!! Ignorant creep!!

Hey... even if Kaamatan is not officially named that way... GO AND CHECK the correct word lah FGS!!!! Isn't BERNAMA suppose to be - Berita Nasional Malaysia?... and you are suppose to know this kind of thing? FGS!!! Mayne you have to check the correct words to use with our Minister.

(I can't understand why people 'ignore us' most of the times...). (yeah, this is not a national issue that can threaten national security... you can't be ISA'ed for that.. bla bla bla, but how ignorant is the reporter from a reputable news agency)

Cehh!! Bikin malu kamurang ni... nda sikul kah.. bosukon, bagus lagi si Ampal!!

Now I don't even want to know what and how they spent almost RM1 million in Putatan for festive celebrations.. perhaps they organised a lot of Tadau Keamatans there!!! FGS!!!

Beautiful love song..

Unique Sabahan song...

My friend Hassan introduced me this song, s i quickly searched the web and found the Youtube version ... listen and enjoy...

"Kanapa" by Baha Tungau

watch and listen here (can't embed though, haha)

Some people commented this song is for a particular ethnic only, i.e. Kadazandusun, but I believe this song is pure Sabahan's - no matter who you are.

At first is does sounds strange, some of my friends commented as "bida' " - but 'you just listen a few times' I said to them.. and yeah, true enough, they like it after listening to it & reading the lyrics

The composer - Baha Tungau - is a pure creative guy... so "mari kita kasi famous dia..."

Thanks to Baha Tungau who composed a truly 'uniqe' song..

My oh my...

04112008-002

My oh my… my JJ is getting naughtier by the day…

He runs here and there

He climbs the chairs and tables

He plays with the water inside the toilet bowl

He explores the balcony and under the table

He scatters all his toys all over the floor

He plays with the TV and radio remote controls

He gets bored in the house

He know how to request to go outside the house for a walk

He cries if we don’t entertain his request

He ignores his parents when we say "don't do that"

He makes me and my wife’s hands full

Yupp.. though JJ is only one little ‘kid’, two grown up adults – his parents – could not even handle him alone.. LOL!!

When he was still a little baby… both of his parents could not wait for him to grow up faster – we have been warned though!!!

So, when he started his first steps, his parents were very delighted. His mom quickly bought him a pair of walking shoes – again we have been warned!!

Now, when he is running all by himself… wow!!! (you can read back the above list, though it’s only some of them, yes, only some of them… hahaha)

In about 5 months time, JJ will be two years old. My brother has ‘informed’ me that this period of time is called - The Terrible Two. Why? Because children will start talking. And when they can talk to you, they can answer you back whatever you say to them. So imagine if you told them not to do something or ‘scolded’ them – they talk back to you!! Question you why cannot do this or that. (that is what I have been warned!! LOL!!)

Ahhh yess… I can’t wait for JJ to talk and I want to hear how his voice sounds and what kind of words he will ‘say’ to me and his mom. Yeah… I’ve taken care of my niece and nephews when they are small… but I was in primary school at that time and I don’t quite remember how they speak to me. Now, I am a dad to JJ and I am looking forward for that day…

I know it’s not an easy thing to take care of children, especially your own and they test your patience, sometimes, to the maximum!!

But I am looking forward to all that … (but please JJ, don’t be too naughty… hehehe)

It's Roslan's story again...

It’s him again – Mr Roslan – a guy who really cheesed me off in my previous posting sometime ago..

Attended a meeting and he was present. He is of course on the Client side. He is not the chairman though but his actions and ‘mouth’ tells me as if he is the MAN at the moment. He talks loud (or can I call it shouting?); he talks as if he is all powerful, etc. what a show-off!! He talked like he knows everything – though at the meeting also, there are 3 other more senior officers. (These three senior officer also one kind, when asked to introduce themselves, they just whisper or murmur - we can't even hear them!! my goodness!! and throughout the meeting, they looked disinterested. They only come 'alive' when they have something to 'shoot' at us!! then, there is no point of them attending the meeting, IMO)

The chairman though is all humble and is respectful of us the contractors and consultants. He talked sense. And he conducts the meeting in a positive environment, at least that what I think, but this Mr Roslan, he just blew it. I pity the chairman, IMO.

Yes Mr Roslan, I understand that you want to get your message across but not with that way. You talked loudly, as if we are deaf. Don’t just blow off like a mad man lah.., we are not school children. (macam kami ni orang buduh yang tia tau apa-apa) Among us also are professional engineers, more senior and more knowledgeable than you. And you are not even an Engineer!!

The first words that come our from Mr Roslan’s mouth when it is his turn to speak (or perhaps it was not his turn?) is - “mana claim? Kenapa tidak hantar claim? Sudah berbulan-bulan tidak hantar claim” and goes off like a mad man, talked loudly, blabbing about why we didn’t submit a single cents to claim. I looked at the Chairman and I think he looked a bit embarrassed by Mr Roslan’s actions. The professional engineer just laughed off and said “ooo Kontraktor kaya bah…”. But this Roslan don’t want to ‘kalah’ and keep on blabbing that claims need to be submitted monthly bla la bla, with a loud voice and disrespectful tone…

Mr Roslan, Mr Roslan – all you ‘shout’ about in the meeting is “mana claim, mana claim” only, like it is a big big problem. Why didn’t you ‘shout’ about other more important things like why we are delayed/ behind progress etc? Is that the only thing of your concern or it is the only thing you know? tell me..

Mr Roslan – we are not demanding respect or anything but your actions are much to be desired. I’ve heard from many people outside, and you know what they say about you? – A big show-off!! – haha.. baru kau tau!!

Or is it you who actually demand respect? You want us to respect (and scared) of you through your ‘brilliant’ actions and way of doing things? Not!!! I only respect Mr Chairman – that is a person whom I will respect if you ask me. He didn’t asked for it but he gets it. Well done Mr Chairman. As for you Mr Roslan… you just keep on doing the way you want to do things and to hell I will respect you!!.. not in my lifetime lah. I think badly of you. I don’t know about others…maybe you get their respect. But I doubt it.

And I can confirm that you are a big show-off and big-mouthed fella. When the other contractor told the meeting that it is dangerous to take a boat to the islands on rainy seasons as the waves is big.. you just burst off by saying that you’ve been to Pulau Redang, Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Tioman in Semenanjung. Go ‘memancing’ and you are not scared of the big waves. “biasa tu”, “oklah tu”. “tiada masalah” you said. Just list out all the Pulau’s in Semenajung lah Roslan… as if we are some nincompoop who doesn’t know about your ‘Semenanjung’ (no disrespect to others ya..)

I am not a ‘nelayan’ but I’ve heard that you mustn’t talk big about not scared of the waves etc… it is a ‘pantang’ I guess. Must respect the sea, I’ve been told once. Same with the forest/ jungle. What if it really happens that a big wave strikes when you are in the ocean? “you will be crying in your pants” as the Engineer told you.

Mr Roslan – you are a big show-off and loud-mouth guy. I hope the seas didn’t hear what you have said… You kept quite (and lloked quite blur or disinterested when we are discussing about the fine engineering and management aspect of the project. Though you did ‘menyelit’ once in a while but it was nonsense and you went out of the meeting room quite often during that time. To the toilet maybe, whatever, but all you know is your “claim issue” ..

You really have ‘cheesed’ me off Roslan, you really have. You want me to respect you? Not in my lifetime…

'Healthy drinks' at Lintas Plaza...

Re-told based on my wife’s account on her recent experience …

If you ever go to Lintas Plaza, there is this new so-called ‘restaurant’ selling so-called ‘healthy drinks'. Base on her description of the location, it should be located along Lorong Lintas Plaza 3, the block opposite Salim 2 and Restoran Sempelang. My wife and her friend saw this ‘new’ ‘restaurant’ and according to her a lot of people patronize it. Normally, if a restaurant has a lot of customers, usually the food is good.

So they decided to go in try. They found out that this restaurant is offering healthy/ diet drinks. According to my wife, it is a powder mixed with a variety of flavours to choose – chocolate, orange, etc. And they were offered a ‘promotion’ package at RM12 for 3-days i.e. they will go there every morning to drink the so-called diet drink for breakfast for three consecutive days. They were told that the will lose weight in 3-days time and were asked to have their weight taken. According to the ‘promoter’, the ‘health drink’ is full of vitamins etc blab bla bla.

So, they took the 3-days promotion programme and the last drink is yesterday. So after the drink, they were asked to be weighted again. Funnily enough, the shop ‘lost’ their record. But in actual fact, my wife and her friend took their record back as according to her, the people there was very busy attending to other customers back then that the have forgotten to keep the record in their file!! They quietly took it as they think that the shop may change their record!! Ha ha ha and my wife told me that they actually didn’t lose weight!! And you know what?.. they were asked to take another 10-days ‘promotion package’!!!

So, after the last weighting.. the promoter then started to comment on my wife’s and her friend’s ‘health problems’. The promoter told my wife that her system is not good, there are lots of problems, lots of cholesterol blab la bla (you can imagine the promoter blabbing about your health conditions as though she is your personal doctor). For you info, my wife is bit overweight, so that is maybe one point the promoter tried to exploit. I asked my wife: how did she know your overall health conditions by just checking on your weight? This is not checking, I told her. This is a ‘prediction’ of your health!!!

Secondly, according to wife, this particular promoter told her that the health drink can make her skin beautiful as it is full of 100% vitamins!!! But my wife observed that this particular promoter didn’t have a ‘good’ skin condition like there are red spots all over her body!! (hah!!! Is this what you call as a good advertisement? They should have used a more proper promoter!!)

Now, the most intriguing of all – since they do not want to take the 10-days programme, the promoter offered a health tea – which she claimed can ‘wash your body from all the ‘kotoran’ bla blab bla… at first the promoter talked to my wife’s friend in Chinese. (but my wife did understand some of the conversations and later told by her friend). My wife’s friend end up buying the tea at RM4 and a 2L bottle to prepare the tea at RM20!!! (total RM24!!). but my wife is smart, she did not fall for it. So again I asked my wife these two questions :-

  1. Are they actually selling the so-called ‘health drink’ or the bottles? (the bottle is more expensive than the tea itself!! My wife did asked her friend later why she bought the bottle as she can always use the soft drink bottles or just buy a cheaper one… she couldn’t advice her as they were talking in Chinese, mind you)
  2. Why didn’t the shop offer to sell the so-called ‘health drink’ to them instead of the ‘health tea’ since that is the thing they promoted initially? According to my wife, they mixed the powder with fruit juices etc. so after the ‘health tea’ issue, I believe the powder only costs, say RM1 and the juices they mixed it with cost RM3, hence the RM4 per glass!!

This ‘business’ seems to be questionable, at least to me. I don’t want to comment about whether the health drink is really a health drink as claimed by them or the products that they are selling there.. but just this – be warned and do not be duped into buying things you do not need i.e. the 2L bottle that cost RM20 and also, we must check whatever health products offered before consuming or buying it.

Let us be a more knowledgeable and smart consumer.. IMHO.

I hope this can be a good information to all..

Urban legends...??

I've just finish sharpening my pencil...

When I was in primary school, I remember a friend who scolded me for blowing the pencil sharpener right after sharpening a pencil to clean the leftovers. He told me I should never do that as the pencil sharpeners’ blades will ‘tidak tajam lagi’. And true enough, those pencil sharpeners that I ‘blow on’ will no longer be sharp. And can you imagine, until now I never do it again.

Perhaps, the ‘lay-men’ explanation to this is that the air from our lungs contain water vapours. And when we blow the sharpener, water vapour will stick on the blades. I’ve seen some becomes rusty...

Though, nowadays, we can buy those sharpeners with rotating hands and you won’t ever need to ‘blow’ them anymore..

Cheers and happy weekends to all!!

Watch for yourself...

Is this funny? or gross? or just pure laughter? or is this what we call talent? just watch it yourself and decide....

Where on earth is the World's best public toilets located?...

Here : Seongbuk, which is part of Seoul, and the city of Jinju in South Korea.

Read here and here too

Will KK or any other towns in Sabah and generally, Malaysia will ever win this award by WHO?

"The provision of public toilets is not just a service to the public but promotes a cleaner and more healthful urban environment. On the other hand, a lack of toilets may, to some extent, discourage some people from leaving their homes for long periods of time or visitors from venturing far from their hotels, with a loss of income for local businesses." - WHO

Although bad habits die hard - I believe we can change. Though, it'll be harder for us in Sabah as we have to also 'accomodate' all those 'Penduduk Tempatan Istimewa' too..

Gerigitan...

Adehh… draw lagi.. What is this my Liverpool?

I watched an anticipated a win against the Rojiblancos this morning.. (Though I didn’t watch it in my full Liverpool attire Chegu Carol… hehe. Though I have my Liverpool muffler around my neck. Just bought in Ranau, of all places.. yay!!)

But I was frustrated, very very frustrated. Gerigitan!! Liverpool lacks the finishing in the final third. They cannot seem to find the back of the net and/or their shooting is wayward. Daniel Agger had three chances with his head but it’s either weak or into the Kop End. Stevie G got a few too but he muffs it. Dirk oh Dirk, why can’t you shoot straight!! Oh my….

About the Ref? hmmm.. he had a bad day this morning to both sides.. his decision are not favoured by both teams…

Yeah.. we did controlled the game, just like when we played Spurs the other day. But controlling the game is not enough. We need to put the ball into the back of the net.

Atletico Madrid didn’t have much chances on goal, unlike Spurs, they were defending like mad and only do counter attacks.. and in one of their counter attack, they manage to sneak one in before half-time. (If I had a steel foot, I would have broken the tiles or even the concrete floor this morning. Gerigitan betul!!)

Luckily, Stevie G got a penalty at the death and converted it. A draw is what we had. Gerigitan!!

I am praying so that Liverpool’s No. 9 - Fernando Torres will be back soon from his injury. Looks like we will have to rely on him again to get the goals… C’mon Nando!!

Gerigitan lah….

Watch Queen Nicol's win in Doha, Qatar for 'free'...

Wanna watch our dear Queen in action in Qatar? Go to nicoldavidonline..

You also have the chance to guess what our Queen's cellphone is.. though you won't get any prizes for that.. hahaha

(my wild guess is a Motorola Razr?)

(Tips : if you want to watch it again and again.. just grab it with a Youtube grabber... hehehehe.. like what I did.. :) )

GOD Created Women as Equal to Men..

I wanted to 'react' actually after reading the news about this - “Malacca may give RM1,000 to men who take them as second wives” - but I hesitated and never posted my 'reactions'...

I just want you all read this and the reaction .... and give it a thought...

In my opinion, my very honest opinion - it IS an insult and THEY (you know who) seem to look down on women more and more...

THEY even look down on women in the Parliament... almost everywhere...

WHY????

GOD CREATED WOMEN AS EQUAL TO MEN!!! (I am a believer of this very words..)

But 'Men' distort the facts and treated women according to their whims and fancies

These very people is probably those who supported the 'bocor', 'gua'.. or whatever...

SHAME ON YOU!!!! (but they are never ashamed of it I believe... and THEY are still 'blabbing' in the Parliament at every opportunity..

If you are ever my friend (any one of you).. the very moment your mouth utter insult to women (or whatever you do or say in that kind).. I will give you a good punch (wherever it may land or wherever it really hurts) - maybe the plural will be better..

I wanted to type obscenities here but I better don't.. otherwise, I will be like THEM... do whatever THEY like to do according to THEIR whims and fancies..

@#$%!!

Happy Born Day My Love...

To my dear wife... Happy Born day to you (1st of November)..

Here is a song I would like to dedicate to you my love..

The words says it all...

"A Better Man"

(by Shayne Warde)

Until the oceans all run dry
Until the stars fall from the sky
Even if words don't seem to rhyme
I'll be addicted to your smile

And if the wind blows out the sun
I'll still believe you are the one
No matter what we're going through
I'll plan to spend my nights with you

I promise you my heart wont fade
I swear to you my soul always
It isn't hard to understand
You're making me a better man

Baby my love will say it all
I'll always catch you when you fall
And if the hard times get too much
I'll still be craving for your touch

I promise you my heart wont fade
I swear to you my soul always
It isn't hard to understand
You're making me a better man

I dedicate my world
I dedicate my all
For every moment
Your leaving me breathless

I dedicate my touch
Forevers not enough
I wanna hold on
I just wanna hold on to you

I promise you my heart won't fade
I swear to you my soul always
It isn't hard to understand
You're making me a better man

It isn't hard to understand, your making me a better man

Sabahan Bloggers - let's make a difference... now!!

Good for them.. at least they have an Olympic to change their habits – read - (and oh my!! It needs an Olympic to change them!!)..

But what about our Sabahans ‘bad habits’ (or Malaysian generally)? Will it take an Olympic or perhaps the World Cup to change us? If that is so.. then I won't be able to see Sabah without people with bad habits... duh!!

I don’t think KK will one day host an Olympic… well, not in my lifetime I guess!! Then, if we need a world event to change us… that sounds really bad isn’t it? Even a world event like Mount Kinabalu Climbathon fails – as I’ve read in the news recently that they are still rubbish all around Kinabalu Parks and Kundasang etc...

“Bulih bah kalo ko…” – we always hear that and I’ve seen a T-shirt with that words printed on it in Greg a.k.a teekay’s of Kupi O Kaw Kaw – bah, kalau bulih tu, marilah ramai-ramai tukar itu ‘bad habits’ – starting with all of us Sabahan bloggers and let us just spread the ‘anti-bad habits disease’ (or whatever you may want to call it) around….

Just a list of those bad habits we usually encounter (or do it ourselves!!)

  1. Jumping queues – cars on the road or people queuing up (e.g. when going for food during wedding receptions)
  2. Driving slow on the fast lane
  3. Talk loudly on the phone including in the cinema during movie
  4. Throw rubbish indiscriminately – even from moving vehicles!!
  5. Spitting everywhere
  6. They don’t put their rubbish in a plastic, instead, they just throw it into the public rubbish bin without the plastic bags!! (for those people who lives in housing estates especially apartments)
  7. many more.. it's and endless list..

The list could go on and on… so I won’t list them here. I believe you know or encountered many of them…

In the last general election, blogs proved to be a powerful/ influential thing… so I am hoping blogs will again prove to be a powerful/ influential thing to ‘educate’ Sabahans, particularly and Malaysians in general – not just as political tools.

You can see more and more politicians on the blogs nowadays.. well, I hope politicians too can help ‘educate’ the people and not just post something for their own benefits… hey you, politicians (even the ‘kedai kopi’ politicians – do something ‘lah’!! – don’t just talk and talk and talk bah…)

So what say you my friends? (even better if a politician read this… or perhaps they polticians just don’t care about these so-called little things?)

Bah!!!... bulih bah kalo kita? - can we make a difference?

Are you one of them?...

Read here the interesting news I always find on Yahoo...

So.. what say you?...

As for me.... well, I have to be honest here :-

I am  in this group - "Eight percent use their work computer to update their personal blog or comment on other blogs"

but also in this group - "But if employees are using their work computers for personal activities they're also using their home computers for work.."

So.. I hope I won't get the sack because of this...
